International Eco Fair „EKOBIS 2009“ was held in Bihac from 3rd to 6th September. Organised by the Chamber of Commerce for the Una-Sana Canton, the fair attracted 294 exhibitors from eight countries. Exhibitors from agricultural, food, eco-industry, organic food and beverages, eco-packaging, eco-tourism and handicrafts exhibited on approximately 10,000 sqare metres of exhibition space. The 2nd ad 3rd of April 2009, Caritas team participated to a Conference dedicated to rural tourism in Mostar. The event was organized by the Federal Ministry for Tourism and Environment and REDAH, the regional development agency.
Laetitia Bargeau, a French student from Angers has arrived in Bosnia the 9th of march in Sarajevo. She is studying a Master in Tourism and Environment (ESTHUA) and is helping us to develop the Rural tourism component of our project. Here below she will present herself.

As we planned, we continued cooperation with the “Agricultural-Forestry Chamber of Celje” (Slovenia). This time we have organized a study visit in the period 26th – 29th of January, 2009 in the countryside of Celje (Slovenia). The Group had 17 beneficiaries of the Project, and that 7 out of Bosnia and Herzegovina and 10 from Serbia.
After the second competition is launched in Fall 2008, Caritas team analized and evaluated all the applied projects on the field, and finally approved 8 projects from agriculture, tourism development and handycraft sector.
In cooperation with Federal institute for agriculture, 10th of December 2008 Caritas organized seminar with the topics “contemporaneous fruit production” and “potato cultivation”. This was held in conference hall in Aquareumal centre.
